sent out some direct mail

_____

I put together a flyer and mailed a bunch to several state barber boards and media folks in hopes of getting some viewer comments and quotes for the FTB press kit.

The promotional DVD screeners might take a little while to get shipped out, but it will be great to hear from those who received a flyer. Every bit helps!

screeners went out... I'm no good at waiting

_____

I sent out a handful of DVD screeners of Frank the Barber. Now the hard part begins: waiting for feedback. I'm no good at that. But, must learn to be patient...

Also spent sometime yesterday designing a flyer for direct mail which will be sent to all 50 state barbering boards. With any luck, those involved with the barbering profession will request a screener and offer some quotes and comments for publicity.

Hope everyone is enjoying their long Columbus day weekend. :)

Frank the Barber - version 1.0

___________

After 3 solid weeks of pushing to get a rough cut, I just crossed the finish line.

Frank the Barber, version 1.0 is done. Done, I say! Done!!! There will be things to tweak and adjust, but for the moment, it's time to make some DVD screeners and get some feedback.

Luckily, Bec's iBook has a superdrive with a DVD-R burner, so i'll play around with that and see what I can come up with.

Stay tuned for more. More, I say! More!!!

Jeff

way over the hump...

*****

okay. so now I have my final bit of narration done and recorded. just for placement right now. Once I can get my hands on a decent mic I'll rerecord it along with the other two. But, for the moment, I can use this to add images for the last sequence.

since the titles are pretty much done, this will mark the home stretch for Frank the Barber.

still, it's a first draft - but I do believe it is a really solid first draft at that.

can't wait to get some feedback. and with Rebecca's new iBook, I'll be able to burn people DVD screeners. No more VHS!

stay tuned...

monday

...

today I am speaking at a Sacramento City college film class about making "On the Fringe". I wish I had the DVD ready to buy, but at this point the raw files still need to be encoded and such. Maybe i'll bring some VHS tapes to sell for $5.

From what I hear, they watched the movie and it was well received. I'm sure it wasn't everyone's cup of tea - as with any movie - but I'm looking forward to answering questions and having a film discussion.

working on my final v.o. for FTB. hopefully will get it done by week's end. This is the final stretch!

the end credits are awesome!!

almost... almost there...

___

okay. today, sunday, I put together the end credits. I wanted to include some outtakes and tidbits that didn't make the cut, so I used them for the credit sequence. they are a lot of fun and really add to the ending.

what do I have left?

well, I have to write my voiceover for the final minute montage. this will prove to be a challenge for certain. while i have a decent segue right now, it'll still be tough to wrap it all up. that's my next thing to tackle.

also, I will be going back and fixing audio and rerecording a few things. no big deal.

my goal is to maybe get this first draft done by next week so I can get some DVDs made and send them to a few folks for feedback.

it's getting down to the wire. can't believe it only took me 2 weeks to get this far in editing, but there was a lot of prepping that had taken place over the last few years... so it's not like it all just happened overnight. these things need to sit around a while apparently.

that's it for now. Hey! Here's a link to some pics from the KDRT raido B-day party.
Check it out!

SHAA --- WEET!

___

I'm stoked.

Just assembled Frank's audio collage for the end sequence. I'm psyched! I'm feeling really good about it.

This makes writing my voiceover all the easier - since I now have a segue to jump off from.

Wow. All this just in the nick of time. Time for what? To get a job!

Yeah. I need to take on a part-time gig. While I'm selling tees - GET YOURS TODAY - it's not enough. Not right now at least.

No big deal. I feel I have an enormous amount of editing behind me and more to do, but the worst is over. Yay!

Alrighty. That's it for today's post. Gotta run to a KDRT function.
peace and thanks to all for reading this blog.
don't hesitate to post comments or email me!
